During our “Art of the Ancient World” guided lesson at the Getty Villa, students will experience the ancient world through investigating objects such as vases, sculptures, mosaics, and frescoes from the Museum’s collection. Students will be encouraged to look closely at these artifacts and consider how the objects and ideas still have an impact on our daily lives today. Students will exercise close looking skills as they identify ancient myths and the Greek and Roman gods, goddesses, heroes, and monsters depicted on works of art from antiquity.
